At Robinson’s mill in Ellis county. Charles Macklin, a discharged Federal soldier, in the employment of Bell & Robinson, at their flouring mill, was shot and killed by Stephen Meredith, a boy about 19 years of age. The murderer we are informed has escaped but the police are in hot pursuit. He is about five feet, seven inches high, light hair, blue eyes, and has a ringworm on the right cheek and neck.
