And he has flown across the oceans about 30 times as he used to come back to the states about once a month, when he was in the United States Air Force. With his new position he will be flying out of Saigon to points all over Southeast Asia as a flight engineer on DC-6 planes, for the next year. This position is with Air Vietnam, National Airline for the country of South Vietnam. RECUPTERATES HERE He has been in Ennis about three weeks visiting his mother, Mrs. Craig Haynes, and his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Slayton and sons, Mark and Craig, while recuperating from a back sprain he received at Qui Nhon, Vietnam, when he was with the Dynalectron Corporation and was hit by a truck while at work, after which he few home. For six months he was with Dynalectron Corporation that was on military contract, working with the army. His position with this company was as technical representative on a helicopter. FORMERLY IN USAF Mr. Haynes was in the U. S. Air Force 12 years and served in Korea, Germany, Greenland, Okinawa and Guam. He chose to be discharged in 1960 and went back to school at the University of Texas at El Paso. After receiving his degree there he taught at Maybank before taking up aviation work again, this time as a civilian about three years ago, when he went with Air America in Southeast Asia as a pilot ground school instructor for two years. Then he returned to teach in the Houston Public School System a year, after which he went with the Dynalectron Corporation (mentioned in the previous paragraph) until his injury which caused him three weeks recovery period here. ARTHORS BOOKS Mr. Haynes has written several books, one about a dude ranch where he worked at Jackson Hole, Wyo., titled "Some Were Heavy." Another book he authored was titled "Kriegel, Don't Cry," which he penned after World War II, based on the experiences of his brother, Robert, now of Bangkok, Thailand, who was a Prisoner of War during World War II.In his work, Roger Haynes had seen much of the world...and has been around it several times. One of these times was with Allen Dulles, several years ago, when Mr. Dulles was head of the CIA and Mr. Haynes was flight engineer on the voyage.
