When the train came to the street that he lived on he got off and was run over by the engine backing. His right leg was mashed up to his body and he was bruised up seriously otherwise. the leg was amputated and everything was done to relieve his suffering but to no availa. He died about 9 o'clock Sunday night. He was buried in Myrtle cemetery Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock. Rev. Mansfield an Episcopal minister conducted the services and the Order of Railway Conductors of which order deceased was a member, took charge of the body and following it to its last resting place.
