Cates, an old resident of the Bristol Country, died Sun at the home of his brother, W.J. Cates in Ennis. He had been a sufferer with kidney troubles for a long time. He was a successful business man, and had accumulated considerable property. He was a consistent member of the Baptist church and belonged to and carried insurance in the W.O.W. He leaves three children to the care of his brother. The funeral took place Mon from the home of Mr. W.J. Cates.
