Daffan received a message announcing the death of her son, Chas. H. Daffan in Seattle Washington on Monday. No circumstances given. Charles Hemming Daffan was born in Denison, later was removed to Corsicana and while yet young to Ennis in the early nineties by his parents, the late Col L.A. Daffan, superintenden of the H & T.C. Railroad and his good wife. He was reared and educated in Ennis and had many dear friends how remember him with great pleasure and are grieved at his death. He was married to Miss Bert Bliss, daughter of Jude Don O. Bliss, in Sherman who died a few years ago. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. L.A. Daffan of Ennis; two small sons, Chas. H. Jr and Bliss Daffan; two sisters, Miss Katie Daffan and Mrs. B.B. Gilmer of Houston, two brothers. L.A. Daffan, Jr. and Lieut Quinian Daffan now in the army of occupation in Germany. He has been away from Ennis a good many years. He was a member of the Baptist Church. The remains will be shipped to Ennis for burial and are expected to arrive about Saturday though the exact time will be announced later. The funeral will take place from the train conducted by Rev. W.E. Brittain, and interment in Myrtle Cemetery.
