Vera Evarts

Graveside services for Mrs. Vera Evarts were at 11 a.m. Saturday in Myrtle 
Cemetery with Rev. Red Phillips officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever 
Mortuary.

Mrs. Evarts, 95, died Thursday, Oct 24 at the IOOF Nursing Home in Ennis.

She was born July 3, 1901 in Alma, the daughter of Joseph and Vinnie Lee Beene 
Baldridge. She was reared in the Alma community where she attended school. She 
graduated from Ennis High School. On May 27, 1925 she was married to Albert H. 
Evarts of Ennis. After their marriage they lived in Ennis.  She was employed by 
the Burkes Department Store in Ennis for several years. Mr. Evarts preceded her 
in death in 1958 and she then took over Evarts Insurance Agency. She retired in 
the mid 1970's after selling the agency. She was a member of the First 
Christian Church and the BP & W.

She is survived by a sister, Geraldine Holland of Ennis; two brothers, Gerald 
Baldridge of Eden, Tx and J.D. Baldridge of Ft. Worth and several nieces and 
nephews.
