Harrison, 76, died early Tuesday morning in the Baylor Medical Center in Ennis. Mr. Harrison was born in Roane, Texas on June 2, 1919, the son of Danny J and Launa Mell Turner Harrison. Mr. Harrison was raised in Alma, TX and attended Alma schools and was a graduate of Ennis High School in 1937. Mr. Harrison was married to Mildred E. McCluney on Oct 1, 1938. After their marriage they made their home in Ennis before moving to Dallas for a short time. In 1940 they returned to Ennis where Mr. Harrison started working for the Southern Pacific Railroad; retiring in 1982 as an engineer, after 42 years of service. Mr. Harrison also served in the US Army Railroad Battalion during WWII. After Mr. Harrison's discharge he returned to Ennis and his job with Southern Pacific Railroad. Mr. Harrison was a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Ennis and the K.J.T. and the American Legion in Ennis. Mr. Harrison is survived by his wife, Mildred of Ennis; two sons, Jimmy Dan Harrison and wife Patty of Ennis; and Steve Eddy Harrison and wife Donna of Houston; one sister Frances Whitfill of Ennis; Also surviving are five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am Thursday in the St. John Catholic Church with Father Fred Sidler as celebrant. The Rosary/Vigil services will be held at 7:30pm Wed in Keever Chapel. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
