W. J. Lackey Buried at Rice Special to The News CORSICANA, Texas, Aug 10._The Rev. W. J. Lackey, 74, Cumberland Presbyterian Minister, who died Monday was buried Tuesday. He was born at Mount Hope, Ala. The Rev. Mr. Lackey received his A. B. degree at Trinity University in 1879 and was married to Miss Boon Sessions, Sept. 14, 1884. He received his B. D. degree at the Cumberland University, Lebanon, Tenn. in 1892. He was pastor of churches at Rice, Itasca, Waco, Corsicana, Tyler, Texarkana, Leonard, Dallas and Ladonia. He was financial agent for Trinity University and president of the Cumberland College at Leonard from which school he received his D. D. degree. The body was carried to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church Tuesday morning and lay in state until 9 o'clock. The funeral services at the church were conducted by the Rev. J. W. Pearson after which the body was taken overland to Rice. There was a brief service at the cemetery with the Mason order in charge. The Rev. Mr. Lackey is survived by one daughter, Miss Maud Lackey, Corsicana, one brother the Rev. J. A. Lackey of Rice, and one sister, Mrs. J. S. Waggoner, San Antonio.
