James E. Lennon, 64, Ellis County Tax Assessor for seventeen years, died Monday
at his home near Alma. Funeral services will be held at 3pm Tuesday at the Alma
Methodist Church with the Rev. J.H. Baldridge of Ennis officiating. Burial will
be in the Rice Cemetery.

Lennon was born July 31, 1875 at Rice and was married there to Miss Nora Cave.
He was the first mail carrier out of Alma.

He is survived by his wife; one son, C.E. Lennon of Dallas; a daughter, Mrs.
A.K. Ruffin of Alma; three brothers, Arthur Lennon, Charles Lennon, and Emmett
Lennon all of Corsicana, and a sister Mrs. Will Fowler of Balinger.
