March 20, 1992

Mrs. Alvie Ruffin, 90, died Friday March 27th at the Baylor Medical Center in
Ennis.

She was born August 17, 1901 in Alma the daughter of James E. and Nora E. Cave
Lennon.  She was reared in Alma and graduated from Ennis High School.  On Nov.
14, 1920 she was married to Alvie Ruffin of Alma. After their marriage they
lived in Alma where she was Postmaster for over 30 years.  Mr. Ruffin preceded
her in eeath on December 19, 1973.

In 1959 they moved to Ennis. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, the
Ladies Study Club and a lifetime member of the Central Texas Conference Womens
Society of Christian Services of the Methodist Church.

She is survived by two nephews, J. Howard Lennon of Dallas, and C. Everett
Lennon of Santa Clara, CA.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm Monday in the Rice Cemetery with Rev.
Allen Goss officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
