Wadley of Palmer dies at age 82. Aug. 26. J.G. Wadley, 82 yrs old, one of the best known farmers and stock raisers in Ellis Co, died at his home four miles west of town Monday of heart failure. Mr. Wadley's wife died about 10 days ago. Mr. Wadley on his 75th birthday rode his favorite saddle horse to Dallas and return a distance of 73 miles in one day. He rode to the News office and was entertained by the News office. His photograph was made at the News office and it, together with an extended sketch of his life was published in the News the following Sunday. Mr. Wadley came to Texas from Tenn. sixty years ago and lived at his old home until the time of his death. He is survived by 3 daughter and four sons. Mrs. A.J. Potter, Sherman, Mrs. Ruby Kincaid, Ferris, Mrs. J.M. Jenkins, Mill Creek, OK, J.C. Wadley, Justin; J.H. Wadley, McAleser, OK; Dr. S.L. Wadley and George Wadley, Palmer. Burial will be at Palmer cemetery today under the auspices of the local Masonice lodge of which he was a charter member.
