Wicker Dies at Home in Waxahachie Funeral Services Sunday for Resident of Waxahachie for 31 Years Mrs. A Wicker 67, died at 10:35 o'clock after an illness of two weeks, during which she took a turn for the worse Monday Night. Her death was due to pneumonia and was the fifth member of the First Baptist Church to die of pneumonia during the last three weeks during the present wave of illness that has become prevalent in Waxahachie and generally throughout the county. A sixth member of the church also has died during the period of less than a month. A native of near Alexander City, Alabama, Mrs. Wicker moved to Ellis county with Mr. Wicker about forty years ago and for the last thirty-two years they have lived in or near Waxahachie. Besides her husband, two sons and three daughters survive her: Ed and Arthur Wicker both of Dallas; Mrs. Tilden Connor and Mrs. H.A. Quaite, Waxahachie, and Mrs. J.I.King, Dallas. All were here at the time of the mother's death. Mrs. Wicker was the oldest of a family of twelve children and four brothers and three sisters survive her. Reed Young of Duncan Okla. and Homer Young of Waco both were here Saturday; W.K. and Kelley Young of Birmingham, Ala were unable to be here. Of the sisters, Mrs. Will Thomas of Dallas and Mrs. Leroy Upshaw of Waxahachie will be able to attend the funeral services, while Mrs. Grace Sanford of Alexander City, Ala will be unable to attend. Funeral services are to be held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at the Wicker residence, 711 Ferris avenue. Rev. W.H. Mcenzie pastor of the First Baptist Church, of which she was a member, will be in charge of the services. Burial will be in City Cemetery. Pallbearers named were: W.D. Farrar, Coyt Malloy, Ferris; Roy Akin, Stuart Moore, Martin Stroud, Allan Kemble, Carr Forrest and Alcie Ward.
