He lived in El Paso from 1939 to 1945 and 1951 to 1993. He was the Chief Engineer at Price's Creameries for 20 years before he started his own refrigeration business in El Paso. He attended St. Raphael's Catholic Church prior to leaving El Paso and was very active in his church. Joseph and his wife Jane moved to the Holy Trinity Monestary in 1993 where they have lived since. Joseph was active in training and in the monestary life. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jane Peckham, his son Timothy M.
