When I leave my earthly home Please let my soul be free to roam. Place my remains in a plain crate And please oh! Please don't paint it grey. I want the colors of the rainbow, Blue like the sky, green like the trees and red like the roses of May- Don't blanket me in satins or fancy frilly lace, I want my lumpy pillow, don't care what people say. I want someone to read my poems, the ones I like the best. I know you'll cry and so will I, when I'm laid down to rest. But don't forget my soul is free, still living inside you, your loving heart will be my nest, Till all of us go home. (Carmen P. Delgado) 1/5/92 In Loving Memory of our beloved Mother, Carmen P.
