"El Maestro" 80, passed away Friday, September 28, 2001 in El Paso. He was a resident of El Paso since 1952 and was a member of the Catholic Church. Mr. Aguilar retired from Asarco. Reddy on April 3, 1913 in Kearney, Nebraska. She graduated from Kearney Teachers College in 1934 and taught business classes several years in Nebraska. She then moved to New York City and began her career with the Department of Defense, serving as Attache until her retirement in 1970. During her career she was stationed in Washington, DC, Oslo, Norway, Fort Bliss, Texas, Cherry Point, North Carolina and Tokyo, Japan. In February, 1964 while stationed in Japan she married United States Marine Corps Sergeant Major James Oscar Madden, Jr. who survives her. They have lived in El Paso since their retirement in 1970. In addition to Mr. Madden she is survived by nephew and niece Charles & Janie Fish of El Paso, sisters-in-law Hazel & Lee Reddy, of Colorado, Joan Fish, Lucille Kibby and Pauline Wagner, all of Oklahoma, nephew Rex R. Kibby of Paris, Texas, and many dear friends in El Paso. A memorial service will be held at the home of Charles & Janie Fish, 3209 Mountain Walk, El Paso, on Tuesday, October 2 at 2PM. The lifelong El Pasoan graduated from Jefferson High School and entered into the United States Air Force in 1962. He served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1966. He later became Post Commander with the VFW, Post 5615 Segura-McDonald and Allstate Team Post Commander for 1983-1984. He was employed in the grocery industry and later as a security guard with Sun City. GRUBB, MARIE age 78 and a longtime resident of El Paso, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2001. She was a legal secretary for Peticolus, Luscombe and Stevens for 25 years. He was a lifelong El Paso resident. He retired from Southwestern Bell after 42 years of service. Mr. Haverfield was a member and deacon of Skyline Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Mabel Joyce Haverfield. Roy attended Arizona State University and Gonzaga Law. As an attorney he practiced law from 1977 to 2001. He co-founded the Child Crisis Center and was also founder of the El Paso Exchange Club and of the Center of Prevention of Child Abuse. He was a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church. Dr. Smith was born on February 10, 1919 in Tenaha, Texas. He entered the military in 1941, and served with the 8th Army Air Corps in England completing numerous missions as a bombardier over Germany during World War II. Dr. Smith graduated from the University of Texas and the Kansas City College of Osteopathy and Surgery in 1946. He practiced medicine in the Lower Valley for 49 years, and also founded Tigua General Hospital. He was a member of several civic organizations, and was a 32nd Degree Mason and founding member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was also a member of DOCARE, an organization of osteopathic physicians committed to providing medical supplies and services to impoverished communities in Latin America. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Doris Coggeshall Smith and three children, Shirley Smith Brock and husband Mark of Buda, TX; H. Dan Smith of Fresno, CA; and Autumn Annette Smith of El Paso; and five grandchildren, John R. Wilson of Chicago, Brandon Wilson of Johannesburg, South Africa, Jana Wilson Esser of Seattle, Amelia A. Smith of Seattle, and Erin Marie Smith of Fresno. He also has two great grandchildren, Robbin Hemperley of El Paso; and Kayla Wilson of Johannesburg, South Africa.
