Miraculously, Mike was surrounded by his entire family at the time of his sudden death. Mrs. Lacy was born June 16, 1911 to George and Elsie Austin in Mishawaka, Indiana. She had resided in El Paso, Texas the past two years. Mrs. Lacy is survived by her daughter, Willa Sue Christensen of Columbus, Ohio and by her son, Stephen S. Lacy and his wife Mary of El Paso, Texas. Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Henry Lacy, and her brother George Donald Austin. Mrs. Lacy worked in the U.S. Army Air Corps during W.W. II, several years with Bendix Home Appliances and then retired after many years with the First National Bank of Mishawaka, Indiana. Always active in her church, she was a long time member of Harris Prairie Church of Christ in Granger, Indiana and most recently Bethany Christian Church of El Paso, Texas. Mrs. Lacy received recognition for many years of volunteer service with the Saint Joseph County, Indiana Chapter of the American Red Cross. She will be missed by her many friends and her family. LTC Mayfield retired from the U.S. Army after 28 years of service and was a WWII and Korean Conflict Veteran. He served as P.M. of E.P. Lodge #130. Luie also served as Past Soveragn with the St. Alphe Conclone Red Cross of Constanline. He was Past Commander of El Paso Commanding #18K.T. He has been a Mason for 72 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Romie A. Boden and Willie Katherine Boden. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, William J. Morley, LTC, U.S.A., Vet. Corps and honor graduate of Texas A&M, Veterinary School 1945. Also, two daughters Paula Ann Namie of St. Augustine, FL. and Theresa Carol Watson of Pensacola, FL. and husband James R. While living in Nashville, she worked for the IRS and was executive secretary in the preventive medicine department at Vanderbilt University for 6 years prior to marriage to W.J.M. He was most proud of his involvement with the Atomic Energy Commission testing programs. LOPEZ, ALBERTO 90, a lifelong resident of El Paso was born in Smeltertown, Texas on January 12, 1911. Mr. Lopez attended the Smelter Vocational School and as a young man worked at the Toro Cement Company. During the Great Depression he worked in Sierra Blanca, Texas. In the 1950's Mr. Lopez served as the Assistant Director of the Smeltertown, YMCA where he was affectionally known as "Beto De La Y." An avid baseball fan and an outstanding baseball player in his days, Mr. Lopez was an advocate of youth, who helped coach baseball teams, trained boxers, promoted basketball games and hosted community events, such as movies and dances, at the YMCA. Alberto worked 23 years for the El Paso Public Schools before his retirement in 1976 after 16 years as the head custodian at Edgar D. Park Elementary School. He also worked as the building superintendent at Northgate Christian Church for 27 years from 1960 to 1987. The Buena Vista-Smeltertown Organization in August 2000 recognized him as the "Official Historian." He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Mr. Lopez is survived by his wife of 48 years, Maria C. She was an avid traveler, having visited 75 countries. She was an active member of AAUW in El Paso. Rios-Villasenor, Marco Polo 53, died Saturday, January 5, 2002 at his home in St. George. He was born November 30, 1948 in Orizaba, Veracruz to Juan Francisco Rios - Silva and Ofelia Villasenor-Colunga. He married Becky Luevano. They later divorced. He married his second love, Ellen Frances Seeley on March 20, 1998 in St. George, Utah at the Grace Episcopal Church. M arco was raised in Orizaba, Veracruz, an area that was very dear to his heart. He spent many a day walking the streets eating ripe juicy mangos. Marco moved from Mexico to El Paso where he graduated from high school. Marco continued his education at El Paso Com-munity College, Dixie College, and Southern Utah University where he was working on his Masters in Education. His dental technician career began in El Paso, Texas/Juarez, Mexico and continued through several moves, eventually taking him to St. George. While in El Paso/Juarez he was the President of the Dental Technicians Association. His warm and caring manner enabled him to have a wide client base. Due to injury he was not able to continue his dental career. This led to further education and finally becoming a teacher. Marco's teaching career started in Las Vegas, NV at the Advanced Technologies Academy focusing on Law and Computers. As a beginning teacher, it was a dream school. He moved back to St. George, UT to be near his children. He was hired by the Washington County School District and worked at Millcreek High School. All of his thoughts and desires were for the students at Millcreek High School. He was always willing to help them in any way he could by being a positive advisor. At the same time, he was as concerned about the welfare of his children and grandchildren. Marco is survived by his wife, Ellen; his parents, Juan and Ofelia Rios; his three sons, Joshua (Tara) Rios, Michael (Crystal) Rios, and Christopher (Desirae) Rios; seven granchildren; siblings, Victor of Pubela, Mexico, Dr. Juan of Juarez, Mexico and Maria Natera of El Paso, Texas. Memorial services will be held Monday, January 7, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 1072 E. 900 S., St. George. Visitors are welcome one hour prior to service.
