Ret.), 86, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2002. Mr. Wager spent 23 years of service in the United States Army and served in both WWII and Korea. While serving in WWII he was awarded 3 purple hearts, 1 silver star and 2 bronze stars. Mr. Wager retired as a radar technician from the Civil Service. He was instrumental in starting the Hercules missile program at Fort Bliss. Surviving him is his beloved wife, Elsie W. Wager; son Michael William and wife Janet Wager; daughter Leona and husband David Henry; grandchildren, Elizabeth Henry and Laura Toman; nephew Alan and wife Doris Wager. EASON, MINA K. born in Del Rio, TX on August 27, 1916, died April 6, 2002. Resident of El Paso for over 70 years. Preceded in death by her "ever loving" husband of 49 years, Alex, who passed away April 7, 1989, her mother and father, Richard and Elizabeth Kunz, her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Oscar Nelson, her brother and sister-in-law, Hattie and Leonard Kunz, and her sister-in-law, JoAnn Jones. Mina leaves behind to cherish her memory: son, Richard and wife, Billie and one grandson, Jarrod; her daughter, Sharon and husband, Charles Lively; her niece, Imogene Clyatt, and her brother-in-law, Allen Jones. PREUSSER, After a long battle with cancer, 68, left us on Saturday, April 6, 2002. She was born in Grand Prairie, Texas, April 18, 1933 and lived in El Paso County all her life. She was a homemaker, loving mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. Helen was a business woman and co-owner of Jand H Equipment Company of Canutillo. Hofmann, Olga Lylia passed away peacefully in her sleep at home surrounded by family after a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas with the exception of a recent 2 year stay in Battle Creek, Michigan with her husband. She is a graduate of Riverside High School and has been employed periodically as an accounting clerk. Most recently she was a student at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan studying Psychology and Music. She will be missed as a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. HINTON, GWENDOLYN MOODY was born February 4, 1914 in Thatcher, Arizona to Hazel Patterson Moody and Edward Lewis Moody their second child. Our precious mother went to join our Lord April 6, 2002 after an extended illness and was preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Joseph Houston Hinton, M.D. and grandson, Ronald E. Allen, Jr. She was a member of pioneer families in both Arizona and Utah. She was a member of The D.A.R., The Daughters of Utah Pioneers, The Eastern Star of the Scottish Rite and a life-long member of the L.D.S. Church. She served as Primary President, Sunday School President, The Relief Society Presidency and Visiting Teachers and The Family Extraction Program. All who knew her loved and enjoyed her spectacular flower gardens. Our beloved mother was loved and respected by all who knew her and she will be sorely missed. Mr. Lewis was a graduate of Farrel City High School. Mr. Lewis served in the Armed Forces until his retirement in 1967. Mr. Lewis was a firm believer in Christ. Lynch, Michael Joseph (Mike) passed away on Tuesday, April 09, 2002. Mike was born in Los Angeles, California, on January 1, 1928. He graduated from the University of Southern California and did post graduate work in Zurich, Switzerland. After serving in the army, he moved to Dell City, Texas, in 1950 where he and several members of his family established the CL Ranch. Mike is survived by his wife of 17 years, Paula Miles Lynch, by his three sons and their spouses, William Mead Lynch and Anne Lynch, Michael Joseph Lynch, II and Patricia Sterling Rockoff, and James Anthony Lynch and Liz Russell Lynch, and by his grandchildren, Lee Elisabeth Lynch, Michael Patrick Lynch, and Sara Elizabeth Rockoff. Rick attended Rusk Elementary, Bassett Middle School and was a graduate of Austin High School with honors. He attended community college and planned to transfer into UTEP to continue his studies in Literature. One of his dreams included attending Culinary Chef School in New York and become a great cook. He was writing a novel and also wanted to teach and read to children as an author in order to help students, especially those in special education. Her profession of vows was on August 15, 1969 in Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, TX. Her community was from the Province of San Antonio and she served nine years as vocation director for her community and was chairperson for the Hispanic/Latino committee for the National Religious Vocation Conference. She held degrees in Education and Counseling and her Master's degree was in Religious Studies from the University of Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas; and a certificate in Spirituality/Retreat Ministry from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. She belonged to the International Association of Spiritual Directors and has served on several boards. She worked with the sisters of her community in Mexico and Peru, assisting in the liturgy and formation programs. Sr. Bertha came to Springfield from St. Louis, in 1997. She has continued her work here, helping to setup vocation committees in parishes, continuing Life-Quest, Project Miryam for young women and in the promotion of hispanic vocations, working with Bishop Leibrecht and Sr. Sandra. She served in the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau and the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word.
