RAMIREZ Passed away on September 16, 2006 Born September 2, 1920 in El Paso, Texas to Apolinar and Josephina Ramirez. Beloved wife Julia Y. Ramirez, married 59-1/2 years. Daughters, Loretta Marx (Don) of San Fernando, Veronica Herna ndez (Alex) of Littlerock, Cecilia Garcia (Joe) of Arleta, and Benita Ramirez of Palmdale. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; brother, Alfonso Ramirez of San Fernando; and many nieces and nephews. Apolinar served his country in the United States Army 535th AAA Battalion First Division, under General Bradley, from December 1942 to December 1945. Overall "Paul" was in five Major Campaigns, starting with the assault on Normandy on D-Day. Followed by the battles in Nor thern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and the final battle in Central Europe, where they helped push the German Army back into Germany. Apolinar was a member of the Laborer's Local 300/retired. He was a member of the VFW Post 3834 San Fernando. He was also a dedicated member of the "All Veterans Burial Squad" for 20 years. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., at Saint Ferdinand's Church, 1109 Cornell St., San Fernando, CA. Interment will follow at San Fernando Mi ssion Cemetery.
