M. F. Elixon, the ram's horn evangelist, was united in marriage Thursday night east of town to Mrs. M. L. Hunter. The ceremony occurred at the residence of the son of the bride and the ceremony was performed by Rev. Cat Smith of the Marlin Baptist church. The evangelist says that he and Mrs. Hunter both concluded about the same timethat it "was not good to be alone and as there was "no father-in-law to ask, neither a mother-in-law to take to task" they concluded to "spliced" for better of worse. It is said the the bride is a recent convert of the evangelist who bears his honors gracefully. Adams and Miss Tempie Crouch of Reagan were united in marriage Sunday. Mr. Adams has long been in the walks of bachelorhood and is receiving the congratulations of his friends. Holleway and Miss Nellie Dewberry were united in marriage Wednesday night at Pleasant Grove church, Rev. C. Smith of this city officiating. The attendants were E. B. Holloway and Miss McCullough. The ushers:Dan Oltorf and Wm Potter. Miss Stella Deer of Lott presided at the orgaan, playing the march as the bride and groom entered. Mr. and Mrs. Holloway came to Marlin last night where they will reside. They each have warm friends who wish them a life of unalloyed happiness. The Marlin Democrat, Marlin Tx, Feb. 20, 1902 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mr. Fred Urbantke of Marlin and Miss Littie Klatt of Stamp were united in marriage at the residence of the bride's parents at Stamp Tuesday night at 8 o'clock, rev. Urbantke, father of the groom officiating. The wedding was a quiet one, only members of the family and a few intimate friends being present. After the wedding was over the bride and groom were given a reception by the parents of the bride, including a wedding supper. Mr. and Mrs. Urbantle each have a large circle of friends, who wish them a happy married life. They arrived in Marlin today and will until May 1st live at Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McComb's after which they will occupy their home on East Live Oak street. Nickles were united in Marriage on April 22, at the home of the bride's sister in Batesville, Miss. Rev. R. Crump officiating. The bride is a daughter of Maj. C. B. Spencer of this city and was reared in Marlin where she has many friends. The groom is a business man of Batesville and may well be congratulated upon his good fortune. Southwell and Miss Alice Trawick of Lott, came to Marlin and were united in marriage. They returned to Lott in the afternoon to receive parental blessing. Mauer of this city were united in marriage at the Presbyterian church in LaGrange on Monday last. The Democrat extends the best wishes for a happy and prosperous wedded life. The Marlin Democrat, Marlin, Tx, June 19, 1902 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Mr. Dan Oltorf and Miss Mae Kyser were united in marriage at the residence of the bride Wednesday evening at 8:30 o'clock, Rev. W. H. Holloway officiating. The wedding march was played by Miss Bessie Foster. Only the immediate friends and relatives were present. Miss Kyser is one of Marlin's fairest girls and through her loving and kind disposition has won a host of friends. The groom ranks as one of Marlins's young business men, being one of the publishers of the Marlin Ball. The Democrat joins in with their many friends in wishing them a happy and prosperous wedded life. The Marlin Democrat, Marlin, Tx, June 26, 1902 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- There was a pretty little wedding Wednesday night at the Marlin Baptist church, Mr. Sterling Ward and Miss Lillian Nunnelly being the contracting parties. The ceremony was performed by Rev. I. C. Underwood. The ushers were Mr. Lowrie Humphrey and Mr. Elbert Holloway. Mr. R. E. Parnell was best man and Miss Maggie Nunnelly , sister of the bride maid of honor. After the ceremony the wedding party and a number of friends repaired to the residence of the bride's mother were a reception was tendered them. The Democrat but expresses the sentiments of their many friends in wishing them a long and happy life.
