Bluhm of Perry were united in marriage at the German M. E. church in Marlin Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. Buechle, pastor of the church, officiating. The contracting parties are both well know and quite a number of their friends were present at the ceremony to extend congratulations to the happy pair. The Daily Democrat, Friday Oct. 25, 1907, page 3, column 4 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunday morning, June 16th, at 11:30 o'clock, at the residence of the bride's parents, of McClanahan, there was solemnized the rites of pretty home wedding, uniting in marriage Mr. Burrel Ivie of Mart, and Miss Ola May Roark. Rev. I. J. Pringle very impressively performed the ceremony, in the presence of relatives and a few intimate friends period. After the ceremony the happy couple received the congratulations of those present. At 2:30 they took the north bound train for Mart, their future home period. Mr. Ivie is a prosperous young farmer of Mart, while Miss Ola May is one of McClanahan's popular young ladies. A Friend The Marlin Democrat, Marlin, TX, June 20, 1907, page 1, column 4 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Miss Ethel Brothers and Milton Hodge were united in marriage at the residence of the bride's parents Tuesday evening. Rev. J. A. Montgomery officiating. A number of friends and relatives were present to witness the ceremony and to wish the happy couple bon voyage. Both bride and groom are deservedly popular in their community, having been reared there. The Marlin Democrat, Marlin, TX, June 20, 1907, page 8, column 6. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- A wedding of surpassing interest to many Marlin people, took place at Clarendon at 8 p.m. Thursday at the home of the brides parents. Miss Mary Charlotte Burkhead was united in marriage to Mr. Clarence Woodie Adams, in the presence of a number of relatives and friends. The union of these young people is of especial interest by reason of their extensive circle of friends, which is not confined to the communities in which each has lived. The bride is the daughters (sic) of Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Burkhead and possesses rare accomplishments of mind and heart. The groom, well we all know him. No young man stands higher in the estimation of those who know him best. He has been a citizen of this town for a dozen of years, coming among us as a stranger. By his ability, honesty and industry he has built for himself a place in the estimation of our people that is not obtained without merit. Mr. and Mrs. Adams departed for Colorado where their spending their honeymoon. They will be home in Marlin after July 5th, and will find awaiting them a generous welcome and sincere good wishes for their future happiness and prosperity. Goforth were united in marriage at Mart Tuesday evening, June 18, in the presence of a large audience of friends, Rev. Morrow officiating. The bride is most pleasantly remember in Marlin, having visited here a number of times period. The Marlin Democrat, Marlin, TX, June 27, 1907, page, column 4. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Barry and Euper Wedding A very pretty home wedding took place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Barry on Live Oak street at one o'clock last afternoon, where their daughter, Miss Katheryne, was united in marriage to Mr. A. S. Euper of Brownwood, Rev. M. T. Andrews officiating. The wedding was witnessed by members of the family and a few intimate friends. A luncheon was served by the bridal party. The bride and groom departed on the 2:07 I. And G. N. train for a visit to Dallas and St. Louis, after which they will be at home in Brownwood. The bride is one of Marlin's deservedly popular young ladies and the groom, who is a successful man of his town, is well to be congratulated upon winning her heart and hand. The Marlin Democrat, Eighteen year Thursday May 23, 1907 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- At the home of her mother, west of Marlin on Wednesday evening at 9 o'clock, Miss Maye Louise Stallworth was united in marriage with Mr. Thomas Moody Phillips of Jackson, Ala. The ceremony was performed in the presents of quite a number of friends, Rev. M.T. Andrews, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. Frank W. Stallworth. Miss Agnes Peyton was maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Misses Sallie Peyton and Mildred Frank. A beautiful song was sung by Miss Louise Finks and Mrs. Maude Horne, while the wedding march was played by Mrs. A. O. Bowdon. The groom's best man was his brother, Dr. J. H. Phillips of Meridian, Miss. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the bridal party and guests were served a wedding supper at which the cutting of the bridal cake furnished an exciting feature. The finder of the ring being Miss Friels. The party came on to Marlin and today the bride and groom departed for their home in Alabama 'mid showers of rice and an abundance of other tokens of esteem and love. The bride leaves here a friend in every acquaintance, won by a grace of heart and a charm of manner that will linger as a sweet memory in the minds of all whose fortune it was to know her. The groom is entitled to and has the congratulations of a large circle of friends in his success in choosing the Lone Star State as the scene of his matrimonial triumph. he Daily Democrat, Wednesday Nov. 25, 1907, page 2, column 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Miss Franeisca Barbera and Joseph Falsone, of Highbank, were united in marriage at the Catholic church in Marlin at 10o'clock this morning. The couple are popular members of the Italian colony at Highbank and quite a number of their countrymen came with them to witness the ceremony, which was performed by Rev. B. C. Pfiffner. The wedding march was taken up at the Marek hotel, the bride and her attendants being in the lead, followed by relatives and friends. M. T. Andrews performed the ceremony. The wedding was a quiet one, taking place in the presence of the family and a few friends. The groom resides at Hamilton where he is bookkeeper for the firm of Jordan, Spencer & Gatesville. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Geo. E. Sanders, was reared in Marlin and has many friends who wish her the full measure of happiness. Stephens were united in marriage Wednesday night in Marlin , Judge Dashiell officiating. The bride resides near Durango and the couple have many friends to extend congratulations. The ceremony took place at the residence of the bride and was witnessed by a number of guests. The couple departed for their home in Stanford on the afternoon train. The bride is one of Reagan's most popular young ladies. The groom is a successful young business men of Stanford. S. D. Press of Houston officiating. The happy couple have the congratulation of their many friends. Scott of Corsicana, were united in marriage at 3:30 this afternoon. The wedding took place at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Green, on East Live Oak street, Rev. O. T. Hotchkiss performing the ceremony. It was a quiet home wedding, only a few intimate friends being present. The happy couple departed on the 4:40 train for their home in Corsicana. The bride is well known in Marlin, having been reared here. The groom is in the employ of the Cotton Belt railway and has been a frequent visitor to Marlin for some years. The little romance that has so happily advanced to matrimony had its beginning on one of these visits and the proud groom has just cause to congratulate himself on the fate that turned him this way. The Daily Democrat, Wednesday Nov. 19, 1907, page 3, column 2 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Waco wedding of more than usual interest to Marlin society folk, was that of Miss Carrie Sanger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sanger to Dr. Alfred T. Godshaw of Louisville, Ky., which event took place at Temple Rodef Sholom in Waco Tuesday evening, Rabbi Friedlander officiating. The temple was filled with admiring friends of the popular couple, and at the conclusion of the ceremony, a bridal reception was tendered the party at the residence of the bride's parents. Both the bride and groom are well know in Jewish circles in Marlin, the bride having visited here often in the past. The groom held religious services here as a number of times years ago.
