Susan Hawkins, Texas Tombstone Project Coordinator hawkins@texoma.net ***************************************************************** This cemetery is called Round Prairie as as the Elwood Cemetery at times. Apparently it refers to the whole area. This cemetery is almost completely destroyed. At one time it had many wooden markers including that of some outlaws from the Dalton Gang that were hung at Elwood. This is mentioned in the story by Cullen Richards and the hanging place shows up on his hand drawn map as does this cemetery. It is shown just across from the Jim Hill home. Thank you to J.Douglass Wofford, who received this years ago in research. It was titled ''THE OLD ELWOOD CEMETERY -LOCATED ON THE SHUF GIBB FARM .LOCATED A FEW MILES WEST OF ELWOOD.
