Original in my possession.  Fannin County, Texas marriage record.
James H. Roberts to Rose Bevers.  License 20 December 1895.  Marriage 22 
December 1895.  Justice of peace validation 24 December 1895.  


Note: Although my grandmother was only 16 there is nothing giving consent of 
a guardian.  Guardian would have been her Uncle William Petty as both her 
mother and father were deceased by 1895.  When they passed Uncle Billy took 
all five children into their household.  In that household was Uncle Billy 
and his wife, his wife's parents and their own 4 children.  Making a total 
household of thirteen.  I'm sure the marriage was also for necessity to 
lessen the burden on her uncle.  My grandparents were married for 53 
wonderful years.
