Hensley League Written: December 2, 1853 Recorded: January 16, 1854 Deeds of Conveyance Vol. J, Page 119 No. 3048 The State of Texas County of Fayette Know all men by these presents that we James Reynolds and Susan Reynolds his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand dollars to us in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have bargained Sold and Conveyed and by these presents do bargain Sell and Convey unto Jane Groce her heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situated in the County and State aforesaid being a part of the John M Hensley league. Beginning at a Stake Edward Breedings Corner, a Poit (sic) bears South 60°W47 varas a ditto bears N4° W6 varas. Thence S47°E747 varas to a Stake a Post Oak bears S51°N5½ varas, a Black Jack bears N37°6°4 varas. Thence S43.W.738 varas to a Stake Wm JM Lyons’ Corner a Post Oak bears N43E3 varas a ditto bears N47°W5 varas. Thence N.47W. along said Lyons line 890 varas to a Stake in the East bank of a creek, a Hackberry bears N21E41½ varas. Thence up Said Creek with its meanders to a Small drain. Thence up Said drain with its meanders to the place of beginning Containing One hundred and twenty four and 97/100 acres more or less. To have and to hold Said premises with all the improvements thereon and appurtenances thereunto belonging or appertaining unto the Said Jane Groce, her heirs and assigns forever, and We bind Ourselves our heirs, executors and administrators to Warrant and defend the premises unto the Said Jane Groce her heirs, executors administrators and assigns, against all advers (sic) claims whatsoever forever. Webb James P Reynolds {seal} H Keys Susan Reynolds {seal} The State of Texas County of Fayette Before me the undersigned Notary Public in and for the County aforesaid, this day personally appeared James Reynolds and acknowledged that he executed the foregoing deed for the considerations and purposes therein stated, and on the same day personally came Susan Reynolds, wife of Said James and having been by me examined Separate and apart from her Said husband and having Said deed fully explained to her, She the Said Susan, acknowledged the same to be her act and deed and declared that She had Willingly Signed Sealed delivered the same and wished not to retract it.
