Adams were conducted Thursday January 26, 1995 at 7:00 PM from St. John Baptist Church, 5445 Greenwood, Corpus Christi, Texas 78416. Granville Adams was born on July 25, 1906 in Hackberry Lavaca County, Texas. He was the son of Jonah & Jennie Adams. He moved to Corpus Christi from Schulenburg in 1977. He was an active member of St. John Baptist Church & the Sunday School as well as a former Deacon & Trustee of the Corinth Baptist Church in Schulenburg . He was a World War II Veteran & was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #2397 & D.A.V. Chapter #12. He was proceeded in death by his parents & his brothers, Jonas S. Adams, Abbie S. Adams & George W. Adams, & a sister, Diecy Adams. Survivors include 1 niece, Ceatrice (James) Kitchen, Sr. 2 great nephews, James (Sean) Kitchen, Jr. & Leon (Vickie) Kitchen, Sr.; 2 great nieces, Deborah (Bruce) Dansby, Jr.; & Daisy Chase all of Corpus Christi; 3 sisters-in-law, Margaret Adams, Etta Adams & Johnnie Adams; 6 great great nephews; 4 great great nieces & a host of other relatives & friends. Active Pallbearers were James C. Kitchen, Jr., Leon B. Kitchen, Sr., Bruce G. Dansby, Jr., Huey Dorn Morrison Hill, & Julius Bailey. Honorary Pallbearers were Deacons of St. John Baptist Church, & members of Corinth Baptist Church in Schulenburg, Texas. Arrangements were made by Cage- Mills Funeral Directors, 4901 Everhart, Corpus Christi, Texas & Conway-Giles Mortuary, Hallettsville, Texas.
