There are two unknown cowboys buried there. One was too slow on the draw. And the other took his saddle off to use as a head rest and after taking a cool drink of water. He layed in the shade of a bif cottonwood and died. A very pretty small cemetery on a hill, it is kept up by the families , the first grave was about 1890. There is a concrete slab on one of the unknown cowboys. Edgin was once a booming town and had a grocery store and gravel pit . Now you cannot even tell there was a town there. To reach this site From Matador go through Flomot on St 197 to F.M. 1065 turn north maybe 3 miles to CR 64, left about 1 mile to a T intersection, right about 1 to 1.5 miles to CR 48, left to another T intersection and right less than a mile on the left. If all else fails ask in Quitaque, at the bank Grey Mule is two miles from Quitaque.Mr. Tubb Truman Merrill helped me with this cemetery.
