First Baptist Church was established by a small group of Baptist families who met in the dugout home of Joe Arnold in Floyd City. In the past 100 years the First Baptist Church has worshipped in school buildings, homes, and three different sanctuaries. The first educational space was completed in 1928 and then a three-story building was completed in 1955. A sanctuary, music space, library and office space was completed in 1966. First Baptist Church has, over its 100 years, grown to a total membership of 1957 and has supported missions through the Cooperative Program and through local missions including Primera Bautista Mission established in 1957.
