Vernon Optic Herald 7 Feb 1913 Warren W. Long was a son of the pioneer citizens, James Long, and was born near Purley, September 7, 1850. These brothers and sisters survive him; S.M. and P.C. Long and Mrs. B.F. Rountree of Franklin County; R.B. Long of Commerce and Mrs. J.J. Nance of Terrell. Mr. Long was married three times- to his first wife, Miss Ellen Gillian in 1878, and five children were born to them; D.D. Long, Blanche, wife of D.N. Davis; Ivy, wife of O.D. Meek, L.P. and Max. Upon his first wife's death in 1890, he married Mrs. Letha Ward, who died several years later leaving him with one little daughter, Lulie, now the wife of Pat Holbert. He subsequently married Miss Neva Madden and a son and daughter blessed that union. All of his children, his brothers and sisters (except one) and many other relatives and friends were present when he passed away on the 28th of January 1913, being 62 years, 4 months, and 21 days old. Funeral service was held at Providence Cemetery by Eld. J.C. Sikes of Greenville.
