PIERCE, MARVIN - Mt. Vernon, Texas, December 12th - Age 7 years, the son of
Mr. & Mrs. Mark Pierce, was accidentally shot and killed by Perry Jones, age
13, as several boys were returning home from hunting late Saturday afternoon.
The entire load of bird shot was emptied in the side of the lad's face,
killing him instantly. The funeral was held at Good Hope cemetery. The parties
lived near Major's community about ten miles south in this community. (Hopkins
