  Thomas Burnett Bozeman has a deed the County Clerk's office at Freestone County
that is a surprise. Because it is one of the oldest deeds in what would become 
Freestone County, Texas in 1851, yet it dates from 7 Feb 1849. *1*    
  Thomas was a Republic of Texas war veteran and one of the Mier prisoners. *2*

  Crockett, January 26. – Captain Tom Bozeman died a few days since at his home, 
Bozeman’s ferry, on the Trinity river. He was a Texas veteran, one of the Mier 
prisoners, and drew a white bean. He was a good man.
