Freestone County, Texas Biographies James Monroe "Jim" Gibbins/Gibbons James Monroe "Jim" Gibbons was born April 23, 1871 at Douglass, Nacogdoches County, TX., and died February 7, 1947 at Fairfield, TX. He is buried in the Rehoboth Cemetery in Young community, Freestone County, Texas. James was the son of Emmett N. Gibbins and Emmett's second wife, Prudence A. Casey (and her second marriage as well). Some researchers believe James never married, but others say he married Nancy Bell Gann. James appears with his older sister Alice Josephine and older brother Emmitt M in the 1880 F.C. census in the household of his step-sister, Mary Elizabeth (Gunter) Spencer and her husband, Ben. A. Spencer. She was a step-sister via his mother's first marriage to Martin H. Gunter.
