Freestone County, Texas History & Reflections Frank Grayson Gullette Frank Grayson Gullette was the son of John Eades Gullette and Rebecca Jane Blackmon. Frank was born in Wilcox county, Alabama, on 10 Sept 1853 *2*. Frank would later grow to become a well known lawyer in Fairfield, Texas. Aug 14, 1870 - The U.S. census for Wilcox Co., AL shows F.G. as age 17 and attending school. *1* 1871 - Frank is known to be in Camden, Wilcox Co., AL. 1871 to 1873 - Student at University of Alabama. *9* 1873 - admitted into the legal circles at Camden, Alabama, November 10, 1873 *2* Jan 1874 - moved to Texas January 1874. *2* 1875-1879 tax records put him residing in Freestone County, Texas 1875 - F. G. Gullette was a volunteer actor in a three act production at the "Fairfield Amateur Club” in the courthouse at Fairfield, Friday night, May 14th, 1875. *3* 1876 - F. G. Gullette was half of the partnership of Seely & Gullette, Attorneys- at-Laws composed of J. R. Seely and F. G. Gullette. *4* 1876 - F. G. Gullette was also a notary public. *4* Sept 1877 - Frank attended district court in Mexia *5* Dec. 1877 - F.G. travelled to Galveston *6* Jan. 1878 - F.G. travelled to Galveston *7* 1878 - Elected county attorney for Freestone County, Texas *8* 1879 - Frank G. was listed as a "Past Master" of Fairfield Lodge No. 103 A.F. & A.M. *10* 1880 - Masonic records list Frank G. as death reported at the Grand Lodge Meeting March 8, 1880 - Frank dies at San Antonio, TX. from consumption (so maybe Frank went to a hospital down in San Antonio to fight tuberculosis and died).
