JORDAN Deacon Jordan was born in Washington county, Ga., Nov. 4, 1823. He came to Freestone county, Texas in 1849, and in 1858 united with Tehuacana Baptist church. He was baptized by the lamented Elder W. B. Eaves. He was married to Miss Amanda T. Hodges of Denton county, Texas, in 1859. He served in the Confederate army two and half years. In 1870 he settled in Falls county, Texas, and in 1877 he was ordained to the office of deacon by Carolina church, Elders Calvin, Magee and T. D. Suttle officiating.
