Freestone county; Democrat; editor and proprietor of the Fairfield Recorder, practical printer; born in Hancock county, July 17, 1850; moved to Texas when twenty-one years of age, and has been in the newspaper business almost continuously since that time; married; Chairman Democratic Executive committee of Freestone county; member of the Baptist church and Masonic fraternity; Chairman of the Committee on Enrolled Bills and a member of the following committees: Education, Revenue and Taxation, Public Lands and Land Office, and Internal Improvements. Served in the House of the Twenty-fourth Legislature.
