Right in field. Directions: From the intersection of Hwy 75 & Hwy 84, go west to Y (at Barry Capps Hardware) take the right split which is Hwy 75 W. Go 10 miles and take a left on Hwy 80, go 1 & 7/10 mile, take a left on County Road 1/10 mile to driveway. Go up the driveway. If someone is home they will direct you to the grave. If no one is home, face your back to the back of the house and look across a small stretch of pasture and see a treeline. The single grave is located near the end of the treeline. Background: William Brooks was born in Jackson Co., GA. and was the son of John and Annice Watts Brooks. William was the husband of Mary Permelia Turner (believed to have married in Troup Co., GA. in 1842). William appears in the 1880 Freestone County Census in Justice Precinct 6, page 58, Enum District 56, household 518 with his later wife Sarah Mathias.
