Freestone County, Texas Cemeteries Cedar Grove Cemetery (a.k.a. Macedonia Cemetery) near Streetman, Freestone County, Texas: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status: Active Background: African American cemetery. Referred to as "Cedar Grove Cemetery" or simply "Grove Cemetery". (Do not confuse with Cedar Hill cemetery near Mexia in Limestone county.) Location: South of Streetman off FM 80. Take FM 80 southward out of Streetman. Continue under I-75. Turn right onto country road 1110. Cemetery is west of FM 80 between FM 80 and the Chicago Rock Island and Pacific railroad. The cemetery is just north of Cedar Creek. One can see the railroad tracks from the cemetery. There is a single "cemetery" sign with arrow at 1110 and FM 80 intersection. Overall the cemetery is about 1.8 miles south of Streetman. Description: The cemetery is surrounded by a chain-link fence and has two double-gate entrances. Currently there is no cemetery sign over the entrances. There are numerous cemetery signs throughout the cemetery designating family plot areas.
