Freestone County, Texas Cemeteries Coston family cemetery ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status: Inactive. Background: This parcel was the original homesite of Abram Maurice and Rosalinda (Johnson) Coston who married in Freestone Co., TX on 10 Nov 1874. Based on the research by James Coston. Location: The Coston family cemetery is southeast of Fairfield. From Fairfield, go Hwy 84 east towards Butler. Turn right near just past Red Lake onto FM 489. Turn right at Brown Chapel A. M. E. church and cemetery onto a dirt road 371 that runs along the side of the church. Go down the dirt road 371 passing Brooke cemetery on the right. Continue down the road looking for a modern well pad or might be a pipline pad. Looks like the pad might encompass the original 5 acre cemetery parcel. The countryside drains into Plum Creek which is found in a straight line beyond the end of the dirt road. Cemetery Description: On land owned by Atmos Energy, this is simply a field located immediately to the left of a modern metal gate.
