Freestone County, Texas Cemeteries Folk Grave (Redwine Place) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Background: This is the family burial ground for James Walter Benjamin Franklin Folk and Martha Caroline "Mattie" Mayo at their old homestead just after they moved from Talledega Co., AL. James is believed to be born in Talledega Co., AL while Mary is believed born in Freestone County. Since James and Mary died within a couple days of each other, speculation is they died from a disease. Both of the parents are buried at Lake Chapel Cemetery a couple miles away. Mary and James's sister, Lura Lillian Folk, married James E. Emmons. Their other sister, Dora Burnet Folk married William Miles Robertson, but died later at the age of 26 and is buried at Lake Chapel Cemetery. Directions: 2 miles north and east of intersection of Farm Road 833 and Farm Road 2547 on S. J. Ryan survey on the "Redwine Place" land owned by Mary Sue Thornton.
