This is a very early cemetery for the county. Mary appears to be considered head of the household for the 1855 scholastic census and the 1860 census, even though J.M. was alive. J.M. is believed to be John M. Holder her husband. Two of Mary's sons (John A., David L.) served in the Confederate army with the 12th TX Cavalry, Company B.
