C.C. Collins from Brown Creek and Rev. Robert Smith from Sims Burrough in September 1907. Called New Zion because it was composed of members from Mt. Zion and New Hope Baptist Church. Rev. E. A. Anderson was the first pastor of the church. Many members are also buried in Fairfield Baptist cemetery. Cemetery Description: Adjacent to the New Zion Baptist Church. Surrounded by chain link fence. Directions: New Zion Church is a traditionally African American church located in the Post Oak community south of Fairfield. New Zion Church is located about a mile south of the center of the Post Oak community. New Zion Church has a cemetery adjacent to the church building.
