Samford Family Cemetery

Background:  This is family burial ground of George B. Samford & Elizabeth 
  Ann Slaughter. George B. and Elizabeth were married in Shelby County, Texas
  on July 10, 1842 and eventually arrived in Freestone County prior to 1860.
  The first known grave is that of their two year old son Daniel who died in
  January of 1861.  
  
  George Thomas married Julia Jolley on June 6, 1886 in Freestone County, 
  Texas. George T and Julia appear on the 1900 Freestone census (Precinct #2, 
  sheet 14B & 15A, Enum District 33.) on 26 June 1900. Then after Julia's death 
  in about 1901, he married Mattie in 1902 appearing in the 1910 census with 
  Mattie.
  
Directions: Located 7 miles S of Teague west of State Highway 80.
