Background:
  The Republic of Texas existed from March 2, 1836 to February 19, 1846. 
Limestone County was formed from Robertson County on April 11, 1846.
  
Document Information:
  This document is the tax assessment and poll tax for Limestone County in 1848.
This document is dated at end as July 29, 1848. It is signed at bottom by: 
1) P. C. Whitaker, assessor and collector; 2) M. Anglin, chief justice Limestone;
3) J. A. Blain, comptroller; and 4) James W. Moore, ??. County.
