Freestone County, Texas Censuses 1850 Mortality Census for Limestone County, Texas [Remember that Freestone County was part of Limestone County in 1850. Background of Census Taker: George Washington Cox lived in Limestone County. George did the agricultural, slave, mortality, and main censuses during 1850 during overlapping times. Best place for the actual images is still free on FamilySearch under Records => 1850 United States mortality schedule. *LC50* = 1850 Limestone County census. Please refer to this for biographical notes. Editor Notes: Dittos changed to repeated value. Fractional years are infants where 3/12 is 3 mths old. Diseases were abbreviated by the original transcriber such as Sc. Fev. (scarlet fever) and Child B. (child birth). Cause of Death was marked "Not. K." for not known by the original transcriber. Cause of Death of "Nmonia" and "Newmon" was Pneumonia. The "|" symbol is the column indicator. I have added a number column on far left for indexing purposes. The most important thing to understand is the month column. Remember it is suppose to be "the year ending 1st June, 1850". So this census officially started June 1, 1849 to May 30, 1850. So "April" would be April 1850. While "Nov." would be November 1849, the prior calendar year. This list shows some of who would have been the heads-of-household that passed away before the census.] Schedule 3 - For persons who died during the Year ending 1st June, 1850, in Precinct Nos. 1,2,3,4,5 in the County of Limestone State of Texas, enumerated by me, George W.
