    ANDERSON, TEXAS, September 30, 1865.

The delegates of the Convention assembled at 11 o'clock in the Baptist
Church.

The appointee to preach the introductory sermon and his alternate
being absent, Elder J. W. D. Creath, by request preached the sermon.
Text, Luke, 7 ch., 35th v.: "Wisdom is justified of all her children."

The delegates having assembled again, the President, Elder H. L.
Graves, after singing, reading the scriptures and prayer, called the Convention
to order. The letters from the associations and churches were
read by Brethren H. Clark, F. M. Law and J. F. Hillyer.
