Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church

Disbanded:	10/20/1900 

   Located 12 miles east of Wortham in Freestone County.
   
  Oak Grove Church was constituted May 14, 1871, in Freestone County, by Elders 
G.W. McDonald and James Beaver with the following members: Leonard Daniel, S.C. 
Denton, J.C. Denton, Benjamin McMillon, William Moore, Arkansas Moore, J.T. and 
Sarah Seeley.
  After the church was organized, it had J.C. Denton ordained to the ministry by 
Elders G.W. McDonald and James Beaver, and at one time called him to the pastoral 
care of the church, who served as pastor till 1874.
