A Texas Brute Killed. 
  Fairfield, Texas, October 6. Henry Gibson, colored, attempted to outrage Miss 
Mary Mitchell near Mills yesterday evening but waa prevented by the screams of 
the victim which brought help. In the scuttle with Miss Mitchell he cut her 
several times but not seriously. Gibson was arrested and taken to a store at 
Mills. About 2 oclock this morning some unknown party fired a shot into the store 
which killed Gibson.
