"...In these occurances the Cretaceous rocks appear as low hills surrounding
the salines, and consist of limestones and marls, which are presumably the
Taylor marls or Navarro beds.  There is also a saline near Butler, in 
Freestone County  Salt has been manufactured at these places from the brine
obtained by sinking shallow wells, and there appear to be extensive salt
deposits closely associated with them.
