A year has gone and the Association met last Friday with the Cross Roads Church, and there were many brethren present from the different churches of the county. It rained but they poured in. Didn’t have any preaching in the morning, hut had some good talks on various subjects. Afternoon, the moderator called the body to order and called for letters from the different churches. After which the Association elected officers for this Associational year as follows: Moderator, W. F. Harvard; Clerk, J. H. White; Treasurer, E. C. Lindsey; Cor.-Sec., J. W. Richardson. Eld. I. H. Willingham preached for us Friday night. After services we went home with the good people of that community. Spent a night in good sleep, returning the next morning refreshed and ready for the day’s work that was before us. We had some grand reports on various subjects. At 11 o’clock Eld. W. W. Scales preached for us, and, to say the least, it was the best sermon I ever heard. After we were dismissed they led us to the long tables—we were not hard to lead, either— and such a dinner you never saw. After dinner we were attracted by some fine singing, which gathered the crowd. I couldn’t stay any longer, but we want to thank the people for the many kindnesses they showed us while we were with them. If you desire to hear some good singing and preaching, and an abundance 1 good things to eat, come to Association at Post Oak, October. The proceedings of the Association will be published in a short while. J. H. White, Clerk ====================================================================
