Freestone County, Texas Social News of 1912 (Communities around the County) Locals from Chinquapin *1* Feb. 13 - As there has been no locals from this part of the county for some time, will send in a few points to let you know that Chinquapin is still alive. There have been a good many changes in our community of late. W. A. Noland had moved to Black Jack and W. V. Holland is living on the place he vacated. R. E. Lee and Pat Lolla have moved to Leon county. We were visited by a nice gentle rain last night, which all were glad to see, as the ground was getting rather dry. Miss Katie Walker visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Holland, last week. Misses Ray Hunley and Ethel Holland visisted Miss Ethel's parents last Saturday and Sunday. J. S. Morris has recently papered his house. Almost everyone making improvements on their homes. Health of community fine. No darkness at present, nor has there been any this winter. Farmers are preparing for another crop. Several families, who left here several years ago, have moved back to old Freestone. There is still room for more good people. Will ring off, and if this escapes the waste bascket, will come again soon.
