Freestone County, Texas News of 1912 C. V. Gannaway The friends of C. Y. Gannaway announce him as a candidate for alderman for the unexpired term of John Kennedy, resigned. Mr. Gannaway is one of our most progressive young business men, and Teague never had a more loyal citizen. Having observed his untiring energy and well-directed effort since he located in Teague, we commend him to our people as one who would make a most efficient public servent [sic, servant], and one whose judgment as well as his aggressiveness would be of great worth and merit to our municipal family in advancing the interests of the town. The special election will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 1912, and friends of Mr. Gannaway say that since he has consented to serve the people, there is no likelihood of other candidates.
