Freestone County, Texas Social News of 1912 (Communities around the County) [Mustang is actually in neighboring Navarro county] News Items from Mustang *1* Feb. 19 - As I never see any news from this part of the county, I thought I would write it, though it may land in the waste basket. Health of community is pretty good, and farm work is opening up right along. Misses Mamie Maguark and Ethel Hollman were guests of Miss Rena Rogers, Sunday. Little Cora Caldwell is reported quite sick. Miss Biddie Garrett was visiting homefolks at Teague, Saturday and Sunday, and reports a nice time. Out school is doing nicely. The Misses Pollard are visiting their sister, Mrs. Real, at Keechi. Tom Chancellor, of Blunt, was the guest of Mr. Rogers and family, last week. Miss Mamie Hollman visited Miss Lena Rabe, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Rogers and son, Tom, of Oklahoma, are visiting their brother, Grandpa Rogers. We notice Frank Wallace is breaking the sod right along. ============================================================= *1* = The Fairfield Recorder - Friday, February 23, 1912 Page: 4
